Newcastle United midfielder Geremi is on his way.

The Evening Chronicle says the wheels are already in motion for Geremi to make a £1.5m move to Besiktas and he is likely to miss tonight's FA Cup replay with Hull City if talks with the Turkish big boys run smoothly.

Sources in Turkey say that Geremi's representatives are in talks with the Istanbul club after a bid was accepted for the 30-year-old, booed off the field against West Ham after a desperate performance in the 2-2 draw.

Should the move go through, Kinnear will be able to use the fee as part of his transfer kitty and it would also free up around £4m of wages, with Geremi currently signed up until June 2010.
