Besiktas management have informed Loris Karius they will not be buying him at the end of this season.
Liverpool goalkeeper Karius is coming to the end of a two season loan in Turkey, where Besiktas have the option of buying him outright for €8m.
However, given Besiktas' strained finances, such a deal cannot be considered.
Meanwhile, Besiktas coach Sergen Yalcin has told Karius he rates him highly, but told the German they cannot afford to sign him permanently.
It's expected Besiktas will send Karius back to Liverpool in June and replace him with a local goalkeeper signing.
