Berbatov feels for Van de Beek: Most disappointing Man Utd transfer ever

Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov admits he's been disappointed by Donny van de Beek.

Van de Beek has struggled to make an impact since his arrival last summer from Ajax.

Berbatov lamented: "I'm afraid we won't see Van de Beek play much anymore.

“It is a strange, disappointing and also surprising situation. They spend about forty million euros on a player who is barely in the starting lineup. That doesn't make sense. I don't blame Van de Beek at all, but for me it is one of the most disappointing transfers ever.

“He has sufficient qualities. Besides, I don't like it when clubs buy players for the sake of buying them. I am convinced that Van de Beek knocks on the manager's door and asks for an explanation. If he's not happy with the whole situation, then he should just leave. His place in the national team is in jeopardy, especially now that Louis van Gaal is the national coach again.

"Van Gaal is of course very disciplined and he always wants internationals to play weekly."
