Berbatov and Man Utd unable to agree on length of new deal

Dimitar Berbatov reportedly wants to sign a new contract which will see out his career at Manchester United. However, that ambition clashes with United's ideas of the length of the new deal they are prepared to offer their Bulgarian striker.

Berbatov has scored 20 goals in the Premier League this season, including Saturday's late winner against Bolton Wanderers.

Now the News of the World reports that the former Tottenham Hotspur striker wants to sign a contract that would enable him to finish his career at Old Trafford.

But, for the moment club and player are struggling with the length of time to be offered. His current United contract expires in 2012.
