Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez has been blocked from signing Liverpool defender Ragnar Klavan today.
The Evening Chronicle says Benitez is 'deeply disappointed' at Newcastle's board after missing out on Klavan today.
Benitez identified the Reds defender as a Deadline Day target but talks have 'hit a brick wall.'
The Spaniard has been forced into cut-price deals this summer and is said to be seething at the lack of resources offered to him by owner Mike Ashley and other Newcastle chiefs.
However, negotiations are underway with Swansea City over a £6m deal for Federico Fernandez.
