Benitez agrees three-year Everton contract with announcement imminent

Everton are set to announce Rafa Benitez as their new manager.

Multiple outlets in the UK have reported that Benitez has agreed a three-year deal with the Toffees.

The news comes despite backlash from a section of Everton's supporters over the appointment.

Benitez managed Liverpool from 2004 to 2010 and won the Champions League with Everton's bitter local rivals.

Several banners were hung up outside Goodison Park protesting at Everton's move for Benitez.

Another banner reading "We Know Where You Live - Don't Sign" was also aimed at Benitez, although it was actually left outside the wrong house.

Benitez, who also managed Newcastle United and Chelsea in the Premier League, has been without a job since leaving Chinese side Dalian Professional in January.
