Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez admits Scott Carson had no chance of succeeding Pepe Reina as No1 goalkeeper.
Carson was sold to West Brom in the summer and Benitez said: "At the end of the day Scott is a very good keeper and hopefully in the future he will be the number one for England because he is still young, he is working very hard. But Reina is a player with a lot of experience, he has won the golden gloves three times here so it's really good and he has a very good character. It is very difficult to take his position."
