Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez admits he won't stay with the club without a show of ambition.
Benitez has made no progress on his own contract this week.
His current deal expires after the season-finale away to Fulham on May 12 and he suggested Newcastle might as well appoint somebody else if they are satisfied with just top-flight survival.
"You can bring in another manager and then maybe he will be happy if they do well and they finish 15th," said Benitez. "I would like to do something more, if it's possible. I don't want to push anyone, it's just to be sure where we are and, if we are clear, we move forward."
