Benfica are not giving up in their battle for Estudiantes midfielder Joaquin Correa.
Manchester City have offered €10 million for the young playmaker, which meets his contract's buyout clause.
But El Dia says Benfica are the favoured destination for Correa's camp, but will have to improve on their opening €7 million offer.
Benfica are determined to beat City to Correa's signing and could fund a bigger offer by selling Enzo Pérez and Nicolás Gaitán next month.
Correa was in Italy last week to secure his EU passport ahead of an expected European move in January.
