Benfica forward Freddy Adu looks almost certain to join Danish club Odense BK on loan.

The 20-year old is set to spend his second season in a row away from Benfica where he is finding it increasingly hard to gain regular first team opportunities.

Last season, Adu found himself on loan with French club AS Monaco and it looks likely that another deal will whisk him away from Portugal.

Odense have confirmed their interest in Adu, but added that they have not reached an accord with the Portuguese giants.

Should the Danes fail to land the North American star, Dutch clubs NAC Breda and Gronigen have also shown an interest.
