Ben Mee delighted with Burnley season start

Ben Mee is delighted with the way Burnley have kicked off the season.

Sean Dyche's men have taken four points from their opening four games ahead of the international break.

And Mee – leading the team as club captain for the first time this season – wants that to be the foundation for a productive run when Burnley's business is resumed at Brighton on Saturday.

“It's early days in the season so you can't judge it too far," said the Clarets' skipper to the club's website.

“We are always looking to do better, but it's been a reasonable start and hopefully we can carry it on for the first block of 10 games and see where we're at.

“I think we've had some good performances. We went to Arsenal and we were pleased with our performance and how we went about it.

“It was the same with Wolves and I felt we could easily have won that game.

“Against Liverpool I don't think we were at our best. There were some sloppy mistakes - myself included – and maybe a lucky goal at the beginning.

“But I think we've set a good marker and a good start, and I think we can build from how we have started and take good confidence and a good mentality into these games we've got coming up now."
