Hatem Ben Arfa is digging in his heels at Newcastle United.
The Daily Star says the midfielder is refusing to pay a fine imposed by United after he reported back for pre-season training.
The French star was told to pay £1,500 because he tipped the scales more than 1.3kg above his target weight.
But Ben Arfa has appealed against the punishment as his relationship with the club reaches a new low.
He has been training with youngsters at the club's Academy as Newcastle and will not be in the squad that flies to a tournament in New Zealand today.
