Craig Bellamy says there's no reason for Manchester City players to be intimidated should a raft of big names arrive in the summer.
Bellamy said: "The aim is to do as well as I can and establish this club in the top six. Then, hopefully, to hang in there when better players come along.
"Then, if they need someone to ]clean their boots, I will do that as well!
"I am at my peak and City are going to get a couple of years out of me at my absolute top."
The 29-year-old cost City £10million from West Ham and manager Mark Hughes sees him as someone who can lead the line and shake up a quiet dressing room.
Bellamy himself says he wants to help City at the start of what the mega rich club call a 'journey'.
He said: "I want to be part of this club's journey right from the start.
"When I am retired and seeing City competing for Champions Leagues, I want to know deep down that I was part of it from the early stages. That will give me great satisfaction."
