Freddy Adu was left out of the Belenenses squad that took on Academica on the weekend.

But the 20-year old US international is confident that he will get his chance soon and believes the manager, Joao Carlos Pereira, is just biding his time.

"Not in the 18 against academica BUT dont worry spoke with the coach and all is good.Wants to take it slow for first couple games.StepBYstep," Adu wrote in his Twitter page.

Adu joined the Portuguese club on loan from rivals Benfica in August but has yet to make his debut.
