The fact that star player David Beckham is out for the entire MLS season could see the LA Galaxy go after another big-name attraction. Beckham's absence should see MLS allow the Galaxy to add another Designated Player to their roster which could open the door for a player like AC Milan's Ronaldinho or Real Madrid's Raul to join the club.
Ronaldinho could make his way to the USA if he is left out of Brazil's World Cup squad and Raul has been linked with an MLS move for some time now.
Also, Galaxy star Landon Donovan could return to Everton where he enjoyed a successful loan spell at the beginning of the year and an expected transfer fee could help pay the way for a player such as Ronaldinho or Raul.
