Liverpool have been dealt another transfer blow at the hands of Bayern Munich.
The Reds were in the running to sign Dayot Upamecano, who has agreed to swap RB Leipzig for Bayern from next season.
Now it appears Bayern are set to sign Kalidou Koulibaly, per Tuttosport.
The Italian outlet reports that Bayern are preparing an offer of £39million for the veteran Napoli centre-back.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was unhappy he could not sign Koulibaly in January, with his club struggling to muster enough money amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Any summer move may hinge on the defender rejecting Bayern, or Napoli rejecting the German outfit's bid.
Koulibaly, 29, is under contract in Naples until 2023.
