Bayern Munich have dismissed mooted competition from Chelsea for Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Anatoliy Tymoschuk.
Reports coming out of Russia suggest Guus Hiddink has told the Stamford Bridge hierarchy to buy the holding midfielder, despite Bayern having a pre-contract for the Ukraine international.
Bayern chief Uli Hoeness insisted: "I've not heard anything funnier. We have agreements with the players and the dismissal of the coach cannot affect their transfers. All of this is nonsense."
However, the Daily Mail says Zenit are yet to confirm the transfer of their midfield rock. A clause comes into effect in Tymoschuk's contract this summer allowing him to leave for a cut-price fee - thought to be at the most £6million.
He has attracted interest from many teams, though it is difficult to see where he would fit into a Chelsea side overflowing with midfield talent.
