Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng still rates Chelsea a Champions League threat.

Jose Mourinho's side are 16th in the table and just three points clear of the relegation zone after losing seven of their opening 12 matches and winning on just three occasions.

Speaking at the launch of the new Nike Tiempo 6 Legend in Munich, the Germany international said: "It's always the same teams (in contention for the Champions League); Madrid, Barcelona – maybe Chelsea? You never know.

"Juventus was really good and Atletico Madrid last year so it's always the same teams, but sometimes there's a surprise."
