Bastian Schweinsteiger is favouring staying with Bayern Munich. The Daily Mail says Bayern Munich are confident Schweinsteiger will snub Chelsea and Manchester United to sign a new deal with the Bundesliga champions.
The Barclays Premier League duo - along with Real Madrid - have been carefully watching negotiations between the Germany World Cup star and his bosses at the Allianz Arena.
The 26-year-old is understood to be tempted by a move to England and a January deal had been mooted as he moves towards the final 18 months of his contract.
However, Bayern have been pulling out all the stops with a lucrative new deal till 2016 and are increasingly optimistic Schweinsteiger will sign in the coming weeks.
Bayern sporting director Christian Nerlinger said: "It doesn't matter when he signs, just as long as he does and I am confident we can convince him."
