Bayern Munich boss Ancelotti: Arsenal tie not over yet…

Carlo Ancelotti was not getting too carried away with Bayern Munich's fine performance tonight.

The German powerhouse produced a splendid second half by scoring four goals to thrash Arsenal 5-1 in the Champions League Round of 16 first leg at the Allianz Arena.

Most would think that at 5-1, the second leg already seems settled, but Ancelotti has too much experience to take such a scoreline for granted.

Ancelotti told BT Sport: "We played really well. The first 20 minutes are good.

"Arsenal had the opportunity to equalise after we had a good opportunity to score a second goal.

"We started the secnd half well. We have good result in this match, but we have to play another match, we have to pay attention. In some situations, Arsenal were very dangerous."

He added: "The performance in first half was good. They are a strong opponent with good counter-attack. We started well but we had a problem when we conceded the penalty. It takes time to come back but the second half was good,"

Further touching on his side's performance, as well as what lies ahead in the return bout in London, Ancelotti added: "Experience is important but also enthusiasm.

"We played with a strong character and personality, it was good.

"I have a lot of experience so I don't want to say anything (about the second leg).

"It's only the first half we have the second half in London. We prepare well as we prepared for this."
