Bayern Munich accuse Man Utd's Rooney of diving

Bayern Munich's camp are accusing Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney of diving to get Bastian Schweinsteiger set off. Schweinsteiger will be suspended, along with teammate Javi Martinez, for next Wednesday's quarter-final second leg in Germany after he was shown a second yellow card for tripping Rooney towards the end of a 1-1 draw.

Bayern coach Pep Guardiola seemed to make a diving gesture towards Spanish referee Carlos Velasco Carballo and later said he did not agree with the decision.

"Absolutely not," said Guardiola.

"I just spoke with the referee and he knows my opinion. He gave me his opinion and I have to respect that. To win the Champions League you have to overcome everything, so at times during the competition that happens.

"It's a pity. They are very important players for us. We will try to reach the semi-finals so they can play then."
