Bayer Leverkusen veteran Michael Ballack is being linked with a move to Major League Soccer.
The Berliner-Kurier suggests the former Chelsea star midfielder is being touted as the replacement for David Beckham at MLS Cup winners LA Galaxy.
To add to the rumours, 35-year old ex-Germany captain Ballack also said on Sky that this would be his last season with Leverkusen.
"At the moment I am assuming that this is my last season at Bayer Leverkusen," he said.
"I feel good about what I do, but I do not know yet. If I stay healthy, I still want one, play two years at a good level. Where that will be, I'll see."
It is believed that the Galaxy are looking at a number of options to replace Beckham just in case he decides to move on after five years in Los Angeles.
