Timothy Fosu-Mensah is leaving Manchester United with mixed emotions.
The Manchester Evening News says the 23-year-old is set to join Bayer Leverkusen, currently third in the Bundesliga, for a fee of around £1.5million after he rejected United's offer of a new contract earlier this season.
Fosu-Mensah is out of contract at the end of the season but turned down the option of a new deal at Old Trafford because he felt 'undervalued' by the terms offered.
A source close to the player says while Fosu-Mensah was sad to be leaving United he is "excited to get a fresh start and show people what he is really capable of".
United signed Fosu-Mensah from the Ajax academy in 2014.
