Joey Barton has intimated he's ready to commit his future to Newcastle United.
Barton admits he is already looking forward to next season.
While there have been no significant developments on his contract talks, he told the Evening Chronicle "The foundations are there, and there is a chance, if we beat West Brom, to finish in quite a healthy league position.
"We have to build on that next season. There is no point resting on our laurels.
"We have done well this season and now we need to kick on to give the fans and this club the success it deserves."
