Gareth Barry is returning to Manchester City training in the hope of making their clash on Monday against former club Aston Villa.

The England midfielder has not played since suffering an ankle injury in City's nightmare 3-1 defeat at Southampton earlier this month when he was guilty of scoring a soft own-goal.

City need a win against Aston Villa with the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham chasing down their runners up place.
