Barnsley call off loan deal for Man City youngster Assulin

An injury to Manchester City midfielder Gai Assulin has scuppered his loan move to Championship Barnsley. The 20 year old Israel international Assulin had been expected to stay at Oakwell until January.

Tykes boss Keith Hill told the club's official website: "On advice from the medical staff at Man City, it's just a deal that we can't do. Common sense has prevailed. It's something we wanted to do, but we're not going to force through a signing when the player's not 100% fit."
