Barnsley boss Lee Johnson was proud of his side following the extra-time Capital One Cup defeat against Everton.
The Tykes lead the game 2-0 and 3-2 at occasions during regular time at Oakwell, but eventually lost out 5-3 in the second round fixture.
"I am very proud. For large parts of that game we were equal to a top Premier League side," Lee said.
"We are disappointed not to come out of the tie winning, certainly given the position we were in, but I am so pleased with the players."
