Bari defender Ranocchia proud of Inter Milan performance

Bari defender Andrea Ranocchia hailed their performance in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Inter Milan.

"We were up against champions like Eto'o and Milito, yet we managed to neutralise them and they only scored with a penalty that didn't really exist," smiled 21-year-old Ranocchia.

"I didn't touch Milito at all in that incident and Bonucci told me he barely grazed his foot. But you know what it's like when the big clubs play on home turf…"

Ranocchia is still owned by Genoa and is tipped for great things, especially after this debut at the 'Scala del Calcio.'

"At the end of the game, we were putting them under the cosh. Inter were tired and we moved the ball around brilliantly.

"We could have won it, especially if [Vitalii] Kutuzov hadn't wasted that chance in the first half.

"We had prepared this match to a tee, we knew that we would have to spread the play out and force them to run more, tiring themselves out."
