Barcelona defender Edmilson remains on the radar of Newcastle United boss Sam Allardyce.

The Evening Chronicle says Allardyce knows that he is in pole position as far as top Brazilian defender Edmilson is concerned after flying out to Barcelona to talk to him while he recovers from a knee injury.

A deal for January's market could be setup in the coming weeks.
