Barcelona striker Suarez: Juventus move was close

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has revealed he came close to joining Juventus two years ago. Writing in his autobiography 'Crossing The Line: My Story', Suarez revealed Juve made a serious attempt to prise him away from Liverpool.

"In that circumstance, I didn't speak a lot with Brendan Rodgers but I told him that there was a chance for me to join Juventus," extracts published by The Guardian report.

"Rodgers said we would bring the ball out on the floor, keep possession and play attacking football. I remember him saying, 'It's not so hard to bring the ball out from the back on the floor, you know'.

"From the start, it convinced me. It made sense. And although the results weren't good, I could see that we were playing better."
