Sport says after lengthy negotiations, over several months, Thiago Silva has settled on a contract offer from Barca and has given the Spanish giants his green light to open negotiations with PSG.
The deal is for five years and puts him on the second rung of Barca's pay scale alongside Xavi and Andres Iniesta.
Barca didn't believe it was worth opening talks with PSG until they had the absolute commitment of the player. With that now cleared, Barca intend to approach PSG about discussing a fee for the Brazilian.
Their failed €35 million offer for Chelsea defender David Luiz on the weekend is proof enough that money is available, despite the €57 million deal for Neymar.
