Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernández jumped to the defence of Andre Gomes after victory over Leganes.

Gomes was jeered as he left the pitch on Sunday in the win against Leganes.

Speaking to Movistar, Robert said of the whistles: "I don't understand the fans' anger, everyone that was on the pitch tried to the best possible. We have to pick Andre Gomes up, but not just Andre, everyone that needs it."

On the game, which Barça won 2-1 thanks to a 90th minute penalty, Robert added: "We came from a poor game in Paris and it weighed on us today. You could see the nerves at times. The important thing was to win."
