Barcelona reveal plans for teen drama series
Barcelona have announced plans for their in-house production studio to begin work on its first fictional teen drama series, based around their La Masia academy, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.
Albert Espinosa, author of the globally successful teen drama Red Band Society, will serve as screenwriter for the show produced by Barça Studios.
Filming is due to run between the end of 2020 and the summer of 2021 and will be shot at La Masia's training facility while the academy trainees are away for school holidays.
Aimed at teens and families, the protagonists will be young athletes, with the club serving as the backdrop to the story.
The club have commissioned the new project to consolidate their content catalogue, with the aim of Barça Studios becoming a strategic pillar in the projection of their brand and a new revenue stream.
