Barcelona youngster Denis Suarez believes that Pep Guardiola will be a hit at Manchester City.

Suarez played for City's academy between 2011 and 2013 and recently made a move back to his boyhood club Barcelona from Villarreal this summer.

The midfielder had trained under Guardiola before his move to City in 2011 and he has now gone on to back his former manager to succeed at the Etihad Stadium.

The Barcelona man said: "Pep Guardiola is going to bring a different style of play to the Premier League, a more tika-taka kind of play.

"Although City were already a strong team and have won the Premier League a couple of times already, he's surely going to improve them and make sure they play a different style of football.

"In Spain, Guardiola won the treble and hopefully he can do the same in England. He's got the challenge of uniting players from different cultures, which is a different challenge to what he's used to, but I'm sure he'll be able to do that.

"He's a manager I know personally from when I was in the Under-19s and Under 20s. There's a continuation of the style of play and I think he will be a great fit for Manchester City."
