Barcelona president Laporta meets Koeman face-to-face

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has informed coach Ronald Koeman he wants him to stay next season.

Koeman and Laporta have met for the first time since the latter became Barcelona president.

Their coming together occurred on Tuesday, and the Dutchman was informed that he'll still be on the Camp Nou bench into the 2021/22 season.

TV3 are reporting that the meeting went well, with Mateu Alemany and Ramon Planes also in attendance.

It was an informal meeting, but Laporta made his desire for Koeman to stay on at the club clear. He had already done so during the Champions League trip to Paris, which was the first game after he had won the election.

Koeman requested to have the final say on incoming signings going forward, as he wants players that he sees a use for coming into the squad.

What has become clear now is that Koeman has the club's complete confidence.
