Barcelona president Bartomeu raps 'hypocrite' Al-Khelaifi over Neymar moan

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has taken aim at Nasser Al-Khelaifi, branding his PSG counterpart a "hypocrite".

Al-Khelaifi has this week been in the Spanish media complaining about Real Madrid's interest in Neymar, demanding Real president Florentino Perez speak to him "face to face" if he is serious about signing the Brazilian.

However, given the manner of PSG's world record swoop for Neymar last year, Bartomeu was quick to react.

He told Gazzetta dello Sport: "When someone regrets, he should think if he has done the same thing on occasion. I do not think PSG has not spoken to Neymar before paying his clause. How do you get away from hypocrisy?

"FIFA must think about it, change the rules. In Spain we have the disadvantage of termination clauses. Clubs know what the player's price is and talk to them. FIFA must intervene.

"Now there are other priorities, like VAR. We have always been in favour: the fans will see that the results are fairer and the referees should receive help. But UEFA did not apply it in the Champions League and it disappointed me, I told them."
