Barcelona president Bartomeu: Messi doesn't care about stats

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu paid tribute to Lionel Messi after his brace in victory over Elche.

Both Messi and Neymar struck twice in the 6-0 rout.

"Leo doesn't look at other people's statistics," he said. "He plays for the team, he scores and creates opportunities for others. Messi and Neymar each scored two goals and both provided assists. With Leo, Neymar and Suárez I think we have the best forward line in the world."

When asked about the team's rotation policy, he added: "Rotation is a good approach; it means that the players can stay fresh.

"It was a very competitive game but it's true that the second goal killed it a little. I'm sure the fans enjoyed it though."
