Spain are weighing up how to react to Valencia fullback Jose Luis Gaya's ankle injury.
The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) have issued a new statement on Gayà's injury after the left-back underwent an MRI scan on Thursday.
"The scan confirms the diagnosis shared last night," was the short message posted by the RFEF to the media on November 17.
The Valencia defender suffered a low-grade lateral sprain in his right ankle and will miss Thursday's friendly against Jordan that Spain play at 5:00 p.m. (CET).
No decision on his future at the World Cup has been made. Barçelona left-backs Marcos Alonso and Alejandro Balde are both waiting in the wings as possible replacements if needed.
