Lionel Messi has copped an ankle injury in Barcelona's Champions League victory over Dynamo Kiev. The Argentina forward suffered a sprained ankle late in Wednesday night's Champions League win over Dynamo Kiev courtesy of a fierce tackle from Leandro Almeida.
Moments earlier, the European Footballer of the Year nominee had sealed Barcelona's 2-1 win with a superb free-kick four minutes from time.
He continued to pull the strings thereafter, but one trademark run was brusquely halted by Almeida.
Barca revealed on their official website, fcbarcelona.com: "The resulting sprain means he may well miss this weekend's match, with just three days to recover.
"His availability depends on the club medical services."
