But the Dutch legend still says Lionel Messi is the best in the world.

"Who would I give the Ballon d'Or? How many does Messi have? Three? Then give one to Ronaldo ...," he joked.

"Cristiano is a great player like Messi and is now making the difference in Madrid.

"Messi is now the best player in the world, better than many other players of the past."
