Barcelona happy releasing Marc Guiu for U17 World Cup

Marc Guiu was again on the mark for Barcelona on the weekend.

After scoring the winner for the first team against Athletic Bilbao last week, Guiu struck again late for Barca Atletic as they defeated Osasuna Promesas at the Johan Cruyff stadium.

Both Barca coach Xavi and Barca Atletic boss Rafa Marquez will soon lose Guiu next month for the U17 World Cup.

Despite the youngster playing senior football, Barca have agreed to release the striker for Spain's World Cup squad.

Blaugrana management believe the tournament will be good experience and a "good step" for Guiu in his development.

Other Barca players to compete in the World Cup will be Héctor Fort, Pau Cubarsí, Marc Bernal, Andrés Cuenca, Quim Junyent, Juan Hernández, Pau Prim and Noah Darvich. The latter will be with the German team.
