Barcelona fear being gazumped by Chelsea in their pursuit of Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil.

The Germany international, off contract in June, has been in talks with Barca about a winter market move next month.

Don Balon says Barca chiefs were convinced of a deal, however now fear losing him to Arsenal's London rivals Chelsea.

Barca wanted to take Ozil in January as he would be available for the Champions League, however the midfielder could now wait until June before joining Chelsea on a free transfer.

Chelsea chiefs are determined to bring Ozil to Stamford Bridge and will offer whatever it takes to trump Barca's contract offer to keep the midfielder in London.
