Barcelona are ready to launch a bid for Celta Vigo fullback Javi Galan.

Spanish journalist Gerard Romero is reporting on Thursday night there was a dinner at Barcelona where president Joan Laporta and sporting director Mateu Alemany met the right hand man of Jorge Mendes.

One of the names spoken about was Galan. The Celta Vigo left back is one of the favourites of the board to reinforce the position where Barcelona only have Jordi Alba.

Mendes is not Galan's agent but he will try and be involved in the deal to move the Celta defender.

Barcelona need to speak with Celta over a deal but from Vigo they say that he will only be sold for his release clause which is 18 million euros.
