Barcelona director Xavier Vilajoana has explained how Takefusa Kubo slipped the net.
Former Barca junior Kubo was brought back to Spain from Japan by Real Madrid and has been outstanding this season on-loan with Real Mallorca.
Barca had the chance to re-sign Kubo, but Vilajoana says the terms demanded were too rich for them to consider.
Referring to Barca's swoop for Sao Paulo attacker Gustavo Maia, he stated: “Kubo was asking for more than the €4.5m that Gustavo Maia cost.
"He wanted certain guarantees, a certain length of contract and a certain salary."
