Barcelona delegation on Merseyside for Liverpool talks

A Barcelona delegation were on Merseyside yesterday for talks with Liverpool.

The Liverpool Echo says a group of representatives have spent several days in England maintaining conversations with the Premier League club, who on Thursday play their Europa League semi-final second leg against Villarreal.

The talks, however, are not about players, nor even about sporting matters. It is a question of logistics and heritage. Barça's representatives want to know how Anfield is being re-modelled while they are still playing games as they plan the construction of the new Camp Nou.

Liverpool are currently expanding the capacity of their ground. They are adding 8,500 more seats to Anfield while still playing matches as the construct a new main stand.

The Catalan club want to see how they are doing this construction work as they begin to look towards the construction of the new Camp Nou, which will see the capacity increase to 105,000. The work will begin in 2017 and end in 2022.
