Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has been caught speeding by local cops.

The Mirror reports the 30 year old was pulled over by police on Thursday as he headed down the highway in Barcelona.

The defender was allegedly fined for excess speed and reckless driving, which is likely to result in six points on his driving license.

Pique didn't look too impressed behind the wheel as he also recovers from abdominal complaint, which kept him out of Sunday's 4-1 victory at Las Palmas.

Luis Enrique's Catalan giants only have one La Liga game left to rescue their title bid, but remain three points behind bitter rivals Real Madrid in the standings.
