Barcelona sports chief Txiki Begiristain has stepped up negotiations with the agent of midfielder Sergio Busquets.

Sport says rumours linking Busquets with Arsenal and Juventus have kicked Begiristain into action, who is now eager to wrap up final terms with the player's agent, Jose Maria Orobitg.

The pair left last week's meeting with only minor details over the five-year contract needing to be resolved.

Begiristain hopes to have the deal signed and sealed by the end of the month.
