Barcelona coach Xavi is eager to see expectations for Lamine Yamal to ease.

The 16 year-old has become a regular starter for Xavi this season.

The coach said, "He is 16 years old and in sections of the game, it shows.

"In efforts, a physical theme. We have to protect him in minutes, depending on the rival ... He is a happy boy, he likes soccer, I see him very well, he is enjoying himself. We'll protect him more for the physical issue.

"(Lionel) Messi is a good example. He had injuries in his early seasons. We have to be careful and cautious, but knowing that he can help us in many situations and games of the season."
