Barcelona coach Xavi was pleased with Marcos Alonso's performance for victory over Villarreal last night.

Xavi played Alonso at centre-half for the 3-0 win.

He said, "He can adapt perfectly there, he has the conditions to go well into space and win one-on-one duels.

"He's left-handed and we're doing great when it comes to getting the ball out. There's a good level from all defenders."

Ansu Fati scored on the night and Xavi also said: "The goal must be very important, it depends on your mentality, how you train. Another little goal and, in the end, if we are all in solidarity, there is the result."
