Barcelona coach Koeman blasts Laporta: He talks too much

Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman has hit out at president Joan Laporta.

Koeman was left upset by Laporta demanding a certain approach to team selection regarding La Masia talent. The Dutchman was irked by Laporta's comments, particularly as they were made in public, and made his feelings known in an interview with Dutch reporters on the weekend.

Via Le 10 Sport, speaking with NOS, Koeman said: "My relationship with Laporta has improved.

"But last week something happened that I consider bad. He suggested that the coach does not have all the powers. He has talked too much. This can be done in private."

Indeed, Koeman has insisted Laporta should be raising such issues behind closed doors.

He added, "I like it when a president gets involved and also asks questions. Only that it shouldn't be in the press, that was the problem."

Koeman's Barca contract expires at the end of the season and for the moment, talks over a new deal have not been held.

Barca had a free weekend after their LaLiga clash with Sevilla was suspended and they're back in action tonight for their opening Champions League group game against Bayern Munich.

Barca sit in seventh place on the LaLiga table, with two wins and a draw after three games.
